" As an avid fan of the Sword of Truth Series, I must say, I think it a bargain price for the book!
I do think that Faith of the Fallen should be left over due, that would most likley go for about $52,487.32. "

" Speaking of libraries. This kid was returning a book by the name of "Naked Empire". I highly suggest you read the series this book is part of. It's The Sword Of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind. Excellent. I'm not entirely sure that a 14 year old would understand it all but for adults it's our version of Harry Potter, only way better. Skip the library and just buy the series outright. It's worth it when you read it ten times through in anticipation of the next book. "

" Chris...don't worry. I don't think that this will stop anyone from going to the Library. You guys do GREAT things for the area.
I think this will just become one of those novel incidents people will laugh over like the couple in Palmdale, CA that got charged $4334.33 for their burger at Burger King. In fact I almost got charged $2000.00 for green onions at Festival foods because the cashier pressed a couple extra keys. There was no harm seriously done. "
Chris McArdle Rojo, La Crosse County Library Director wrote on May 26, 2006 10:02 AM:
" This was an unfortunate glitch in a merge of two very large databases. A merge that went relatively smoothly considering La Crosse County migrated over 90,000 item records and over 25,000 patron records. Although much of our world is now automated, collections action is closely monitored and staff review and confirm accounts manually before anything is forwarded. Accounts are not moved to collections until items or fees are 60 days overdue. Our collections company does not credit report unless an account is not addressed for 120 days from the time they receive it, meaning by that point items are 6 months overdue! It's unfortunate that the grand good that this project has done for library services throughout this region is now scarred by one incident that we thought we had been able to clear up without a second glance. "

" I guarantee their computer glitch WILL send a notification to a collection agency. If it were me, I be watching my credit report closely, and if this appears on their credit report, they should sue for millions, because that IS what it will cost them in the end. Computer glitches are becoming all to common place and it is unacceptable. "
