Liquor license not renewed for nightclub owned by Packer

.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Common Council voted early Wednesday not to renew the liquor license of a nightclub owned by Packers' player Nick Barnett.

The council took the move on an 8-4 vote concerning the FiveSix Ultra Lounge at the recommendation of the city's Protection and Welfare Committee.
Several residents who live near the nightclub testified before the council about late-night noise, drunkenness and other problems they said took place after the bar closes.

``The people that come out of that establishment are unruly,'' neighbor Jesse Rouse said. ``I have people that come over that are astonished by what happens at bar time.''

Barnett said he will pursue any options available to keep the club open.

``I don't believe they were fair,'' he said. ``I think they're using me as a tool to speak to other bars through the media. ``

" patrons ripped the stairs off through them in the intersection, started them on fire. soon the cops show up in full riot gear. Freaks on Lime Kiln-cops on East Mason It was just a stand off for a long time. Then the crowd got tear gassed everybody started running like crazy. I fell into a construction trench and was stuck there. Cops and freaks were literally running over me funny huh? What a way to send a great bar to it's grave. There is a softball tournament held in the Green Bay area every year to commemorate that awesome place, it' called the Pink Flamingo Classic. Every time I see those cheap lawn ornaments I smile with some special memories of that sweet time and place. "

" Why don't you give the address of the place. I remember when the Pink Flamingo was refused a license. The last night of business, I think it was June 30 the crowd there was huge. People loved that place- it was next to a big place on Lime Kiln and East Mason at that time it was called The Pack and the Hounds they had live entertainment in the back bar and food, fun, and sports in the front bar. The Pink Flamingo was next door on Lime Kiln and what a place! It was old and rickety and the manager lived upstairs oh, the drinks were cheap, the music LOUD, the pool and foosball tables level and the cowd crazy. Ask about what happened at closing that night....the first and maybe only riot Green Bay has had. "
