Nedira Haik, MD, recently joined the Center for Health and Healing at the Franciscan Skemp Onalaska Clinic.
Dr. Haik earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas and completed her family medicine residency at the United Family Medicine Residency Program in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1996. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Holistic Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Holistic Medical Association.
Dr. Haik has long combined traditional Family Medicine with a holistic approach to health care. She brings her knowledge of alternative therapies along with her training in primary care to her new position at the Center for Health and Healing. There she will be offering consultations in Integrative Medicine along with Manual Medicine treatment as part of the Center's team of holistic providers.
Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Welcomes Neurologist
Ashok Nakhasi, MD, recently joined the Neurology Department at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare.
Dr. Nakhasi earned his medical degree at Government Medical College in Amritsar, Punjab, India and completed his neurology residency at T. Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also completed an internal medicine residency and internship at St. Peter's Medical Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Dr. Nakhasi is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology and is a member of the Jefferson Medical Society, American Medical Society and American Society of Neuroimaging. Prior to joining Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, Dr. Nakhasi practiced neurology in Waterloo, Iowa.
Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Welcomes Tahir Tak, MD, PhD to the Cardiology Department
Tahir Tak, MD, PhD recently joined the Cardiology Department at Mayo Clinic and Franciscan Skemp Healthcare.
Dr. Tak earned his medical
degree from the University of Nijmegen in the Netherlands. He completed an internal medicine residency at Mariastichting in Haarlem, the Netherlands and a cardiology fellowship at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
Dr. Tak is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association and the European Society of Cardiology.
Prior to joining Mayo Clinic and Franciscan Skemp, Dr. Tak practiced cardiovascular medicine at the University of North Texas in Fort Worth where he held the position of Professor of Medicine and Director of Echocardiography and Non Invasive Cardiology.

Gundersen Lutheran Imaging adds new radiologist
Gundersen Lutheran welcomes its newest diagnostic radiologist, John Pape, MD. As a radiologist he provides a variety of services at Gundersen Lutheran including CT, ultrasound, plain films, fluoroscopy, MRI, nuclear medicine and mammography. Dr. Pape will also provide outreach service to regional hospitals in Viroqua, Prairie du Chien, Black River Falls and West Union, Iowa. Dr. Pape earned his Bachelor of Science in microbiology from Arizona State University. In 1986, he joined the United States Navy where he held various positions including supply officer on a submarine. While serving in the military, he received his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and performed a psychiatry internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., and later a residency in diagnostic radiology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, Calif. Most recently, he was the department head for Radiology at the Naval Hospital in Cherry Point, N.C.
Richmond joins Gundersen Lutheran General Surgery
Rita Richmond, APNP, is now a member of Gundersen Lutheran's General Surgery department. As a nurse practitioner, Richmond will be responsible for patient flow within the vascular surgery team. Richmond specializes in transition planning, preparation and follow-up while meeting the individual needs of vascular surgery patients. She also provides care within Gundersen Lutheran's specialized Vein Clinic.
After working at Gundersen Lutheran for more than ten years as a nurse, Richmond pursued her goal of becoming an advanced practice nurse practitioner. She received her Master of Science in nursing from Viterbo University, La Crosse, WI.
During her time at Gundersen Lutheran, Richmond has been a pain resource nurse, advanced infection control practitioner and Magnet navigator. She has also been a member of the Medication and Safety Committee, Continuous Readiness Committee, Patient Transfer Lean Implementation Team and the Patient Satisfaction Committee. The Small Business Development Center at UW-La Crosse recently added two new business education outreach coordinators.
Sue Noble brings extensive experience with community and economic development. Noble had been an assistant director at the Juneau County Economic Development Corporation. She helped develop the original Inventors' and Entrepreneurs' Club and facilitated the launch of several dozen additional clubs throughout the state and region based on the model. Noble has experience in conferences and seminars for adult learners, including assessment and planning for rural programs, community development, group facilitation, strategic planning, public relations and grant writing. The Title Company, Inc. announces that Marilyn J. Wille has assumed the office of President and CEO, succeeding her late husband, Michael F. Wille. Marilyn began her career in 1971 with a company then called La Crosse County Title as a production assistant. Her thirty-five years with the company makes her uniquely qualified to continue to provide consistent and professional service.

Elisabeth Berg Graduates From Analyzing Financial Statements School
On December 7th, 2006, Libby Berg successfully completed the Analyzing Financial Statements School in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.
Sponsored by the Wisconsin Bankers Association, this curriculum is designed to provide bank personnel with an increased understanding of the structure, use, and evaluation of business financial statements as related to lending decisions and loan structuring. The faculty is comprised of bankers who are considered authorities in their respective fields.
Libby has a bachelor's degree in Organizational Management from Viterbo University - La Crosse. She began working as a teller at Coulee Bank in August of 2003 and was promoted to Commercial Loan Coordinator in May of 2005.
Classes such as those provided by the Wisconsin Bankers Association provide a unique opportunity for bank personnel to learn how to more completely meet the changing needs of customers and deliver higher quality service in our community.
