It is scheduled to be completed by the end of April, and to start up in July.
The plant will have about 15 employees, said Tony Janowiec, BEST Energies vice president of operations. It will be able to make about 12 million gallons of biodiesel a year. Initially, it is expected to produce about 8 million gallons a year, he said.
The facility will make biodiesel from soybean oil. A BEST subsidiary will operate the plant and sell the biodiesel to distributors who will blend it with petroleum diesel fuel.
