Gang fight leads to charges

.
Felony charges are pending against a La Crosse teen accused of taking part in the gang-related beating of a Holmen, Wis., teen Thursday evening.

The injured 16-year-old told police he was attacked by several members of the gang “Crazy Hmong Boys” while walking in the 1000 block of South Ninth Street about 8:50 p.m. Thursday, La Crosse police report.
The teen said he was punched, kicked and struck with a metal rod and plastic flower pot.

Three teens later admitted they were at the fight. They said the injured teen is a member of the gang “Oriental Thugs” and was attacked because he damaged vehicles belonging to members of their gang.

During an appearance Friday in La Crosse County Circuit Court, Assistant District Attorney Tim Gruenke said Nhu Vue, 18, of 227 Liberty St., Apt. 4, admitted he was driving a group of gang members who were looking for a fight with a rival gang.

Gruenke said prosecutors need more time to review police and medical reports before filing charges against Vue.

La Crosse County Circuit Judge John Perlich continued the case until Tuesday and ordered Vue held on a $1,500 cash bond.

Juvenile charges are pending against two males, a 16-year-old from Onalaska, Wis., and a 13-year-old from Holmen, according to police.

" The little kids these days who are in gangs really need professional help. I wonder how they see themselves in the next five years because I really pity them. The gang life is over and these really stupid kids must grow up or take full responsiblity for their actions. If you don't teach them now what is right and wrong, they will keep acting stupid forever. Harsher punishments should be the next step to let them know that they can't get away with their stupidness when they are with their so called gang friends. These dump kids need help that we can't give them. Send them to boot camp or prison time!!!!!!!!!! "

" So you say you're not afraid of them? So does that mean that you're one of their rivals; or at the very least, one who wants to get involvded in these gang problems? So the CHB's beat up girls too, hmmm....where are your sources. Stick to the topic. The topic was about a gang fight involving several boys/men. "

" I left a comment yesterday but it wasn't posted. The number of people in gangs today are rising all the time. I've seen the CHBs around and I hear about them all the time. I'm personally not afraid of them but I know that they are careless of others. I think that even if they didn't like a girl, they'd beat her up to. The way I see it, the CHBs have got away with too much. "

" I think that I may know who the kid was from holmen who was in the fight and gang "crazy hmong boys". It really scares me that someone so violent is going to my school. "
