Lang was one of about 250 contestant from throughout Wisconsin and three other states competing Saturday at the Little Britches Rodeo. He filled up with a meal of peas the night before and took off with his parents and siblings early Saturday morning for the weekend ritual.

“I grew up a city kid,” he said, and acknowledged that he has become a rodeo dad.
