Two arrested in prostitution deal: Man tells police he paid for sex and cash was stolen

.
A La Crosse man and woman both were arrested Thursday after he reported to police that she had stolen money he had paid her for sex.

Richard Miller, 54, told police “he may be in trouble” for reporting the theft, according to the police report.
Miller said he was instructed to meet Jennifer Stach, 30, at a downtown bar Wednesday night, according to the report.

They went to his apartment at 203 N. Third St., where Miller gave her $200 in cash about 5 a.m. Thursday and began fondling her through her clothing, according to the report.

Stach then told Miller she needed to give the money to her driver. She returned about 6:45 a.m. with another woman and demanded another $80, which he paid, according to the report.

The women left in a tan car with a male driver, telling Miller the other woman needed to be taken home. After they left, Miller found his Visa credit card was missing and believed the other woman had taken it, according to the report.

He called police, who later found him talking with Stach in the 200 block of State Street. She had returned his credit card, according to the report, but said the other woman had stolen it.

She also told police she did not take $280 from Miller and did not plan to have sex with him, according to the report.

Stach, of 1223 S. 13th St., was arrested for prostitution, receiving stolen property and first-offense alcohol-related operating after revocation after it was determined she had driven to the location.

She is being held in the La Crosse County Jail and expected to appear today in La Crosse County Circuit Court.

Miller was arrested for patronizing a prostitute. He was released on a signature bond, and a court date has not been set.

Police have not found the other woman involved.

" Why in the world is it when anything happens here in LaCrosse, people make dumb comments like "I'm gonna Move" or "gee I'm so glad I don't live there anymore". All 60,000 of us are just morons, right? 59,900 of us know how to behave. If you don't want it on the news don't let it happen. Check out any newspaper from another town of similar size, it's the same thing. Most of us know how to behave. I move here 20 years ago because I loved the area after visiting a few times and have never rgretted it. "

" Why is what "$" said so horrible? Do people actually condone prostitution? The writer did not make any malicious or horrible comments, yet everyone is attacking them for believing in a higher meaning of sex... people should respect themselves and not use sex as a way to make money, and it is sick and pathetic for a man to pay a prostitute...and comments about paying for prom and such is not considered you paying for sex! If a woman knew you thought that way you would be alone for the rest of your life... men are only demeaning themselves by saying they buy things for women to get sex, because if they wait they would see there love and compassion can get the same thing.. "

" Granted, no one involved in this incident is exactly going to have a glowing reputation. But why are you picking on the woman alone? What kind of an idiot tries to hire a prostitute and then calls the police when they don't get what they paid for? It's kind of like calling the police for a bad drug deal. This entire situation is just astonishing. "
