There have been tribes and cultures that gave and received tattoos for thousands of years. It is a culture that is increasingly becoming less taboo every single day. As you can tell, I am an avid tattoo supporter.
Yes, my opinionated friends, you hear of people having their ink removed. They should spend more than a few hours looking at their potential life art, rather than getting a tattoo just to get “inked.” It is now a decade since I got my first tattoo, and I can’t imaging looking into the mirror without them! The body is a temple, and mine is more decorated than others.
The rite of passage called getting a tattoo can cost quite a bit of money. The amount, however, is still less than what the average person pays to decorate their house. I have also never heard of anyone saying “Nope, that didn’t hurt.” People, that is the name of the game! Minutes after the tattoo is done, the pain subsides to a mild-feeling sunburn.
And for those of you who ogle our tattoos and point and stare, no one I know got their tattoos for other people. They are, to each individual, a profound landmark in the timeline of life. I urge everyone, if you see someone who is “all tatted up,” go to them and ask about it. Become educated. No good comes from ignorance.
