W.A. Roosevelt is proud to announce that Andy Esser has recently accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer - Vice President of Finance. Andy has a very diverse work experience in both finance and operations, which will be a great asset for his new journey. He comes to W.A. Roosevelt from The Trane Company where for the past four years he had been responsible for Financial Planning and Analysis for Trane's 100-office North American Sales Group. Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Welcomes Praveen Koneru, MD

Praveen Koneru, MD, recently joined Franciscan Skemp Healthcare as a hospitalist. He joins Dr. Willie Pangilinan, Dr. Brian Kosiak and Dr. Kalyan Ghanta in the Department of Hospital Medicine.

Dr. Koneru earned his medical degree from Guntur Medical College in Guntur, India and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Government General Hospital in Guntur, India and St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois.

As a hospitalist, Dr. Koneru will specialize in caring for hospital patients. His activities will include admissions, inpatient consultations, developing medical plans of care and discharging patients. Since hospitalists spend most of their time in the hospital, they are more readily available to a patient than a doctor who spends much of the day in an office or clinical setting.

The term "hospitalist" was coined in a New England Journal of Medicine article in August of 1996. The field has seen explosive growth since the 1990's. The majority of practicing hospitalists are trained in Internal Medicine.
