There are a lot of good character guys on this team that play hard for the game they love and respect. Afterall, this team is good for LAX and the MVL. Good luck to all MVL @ WBA. Yes, they have/had players from other towns. Just like Tomah, Onalaska, Viroqua, BRF and so on. This is going to continue to happen. If LAX had a team stick in the past or if Sparta was "homegrown" they would have never won a state title. I know this for a fact since I recruited a lot of LAX players in the past to play there and help gain the respect they have today. "

That won't be the case anymore, and don't plan on the LaX to fold anytime soon. The league is made up of players that love the game & bust their asses everytime on the field, so with press or not lets all be lucky we as players have a place to play every summer. Do yourself some good & respect the game, play it hard & make some life time friends on the way. Great season to all of us. "

How dare you post a comment with ignornance and prejudgment. Who are you to judge him? What have you done to make such mention of Coach Lev. I have had the pleasure to stand next to Lev and coach. Lev. clearly is one of the select few that have a true grasp of baseball in this theatre of baseball we call the Coulee Region. "

Even today they take our players. Others that have played NWL: Podmolik from LaX, Matt McGaughey from Miller, Brandon Hodge from Kendall, Phil Bartz and Brad Bjerke from La Crescent, Dustin Hundt from Miller...I'm sure there are more that I can't recall right now. In all, the NWL is a glorified version of the MVL...but they have money to throw around. "

The MVL has been a great venue to see some high level baseball in this area for many years, and it would be nice to see it get more ink time. However, when you get down to brass tacks it doesn't have the same appeal as the Loggers even though it is just as good if not better quality baseball. The Loggers bring in exotic names from flashy D-1 programs, and combine that with all the promotions and party decks and what-not it becomes good family friendly entertainment. Having been a member of the MVL it's not always family orientated (EFK) and who want's to see CCV play Elroy. All in all the MVL can provide a great theater for baseball fans who truely love the game in it's pure form. "

If you enjoy baseball without all the giveaways and annoying between inning stuff, then maybe you should check out this league next summer!! Congratulations to CCV and La Crosse this year. They both deserve respect.
As for the comments to Sparta...I agree with Chaz that the person who made the comments knows nothing about the league. Probably another washed up player who wants attention.
FYI: When La Crosse doesn't have a team in the league, notice how those players play on Sparta's, or CCV's, or La Crescent's teams. When La Crosse has no team, those places are good enough for them to play in. Nice comments though! "
