United Way fund

Great Rivers United Way has established a Flood Recovery Fund with Wells Fargo. The fund is made up of $25,000 from the United Way’s emergency reserve fund and $40,000 from Wells Fargo.
The money will assist tax-exempt health and human service organizations providing services to meet long-term, unmet needs of people affected by the floods in Houston, La Crosse and Vernon counties.

The funds will be available for expenses not covered by government or traditional relief sources.

Individual donations can be made in the form of check or cash at any area Wells Fargo bank and can also be mailed to or dropped off at Great Rivers United Way, 1855 E. Main, Onalaska, WI, 54650. Write “flood relief” on the check’s memo line.

Credit card donations can be made through the Great Rivers United Way Web site at www.greatriversunitedway.org.

" And just what will the United Way do with this money? They are not in the disaster business although everyone seems to want to be when these things happen. "
