UW-L earns at-large bid for Division III volleyball tourney

The UW-La Crosse volleyball team has earned an at-large bid for the NCAA Division III tournament. The Eagles (24-9) will face Calvin College in a regional quarterfinal at 6 p.m. Thursday at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis.

UW-L, ranked 17th by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, is making its 11th appearance, and third in the last five years, in the tournament.

UW-L is one of five WIAC schools to qualify for the field. UW-Oshkosh and UW-Platteville will join the Eagles at the Carthage regional. WIAC champion UW-Whitewater and UW-Eau Claire both will play in the St. Thomas regional in St. Paul.
