None have been groomed yet after the recent snow, Kaufmann said, but the county hopes to have the work done by the end of next week. Grooming smooths down the trail and makes it easier to traverse, she explained.
Snowmobile trails are open as well and have been groomed, Kaufmann said. The La Crosse County Snowmobile Alliance has done a wonderful job, she said, of getting public trails open and ready.
That’s good news for Eric Williams, sales manager at Two Brothers Powersports in Onalaska, Wis., who said snowmobile sales have been brisk this winter.
“When we got that first snowstorm, we got a huge jump-start on the season,” Williams said. “This extra snow is a real shot in the arm.”
