Published - Saturday, February 16, 2008 College roundup: UW-L gymnasts take first at Stout Triangular MENOMONIE, Wis. — Senior Kasey Clausen won the uneven bars (9.55) and balance beam (9.575) to lead the UW-La Crosse gymnastics team to first place at the UW-Stout Triangular on Friday. The Eagles scored 183.275 points and won three of four events, including the vault, bars and floor exercise. Gabi Hooper took first individually on the vault (9.625) and Erin Sommer won the all-around (37.025). “Kasey had a real solid meet, it was good to see her bounce back from last week,” Eagles coach Barb Gibson said. “As a team, we had two real solid events, we made nice strides on bars and vault.” INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD: The UW-La Crosse men’s track and field team placed second at the six-team Warhawk Classic. For the Eagles, Matt Gordy (55-meter dash), David Kolbe (400), Dave Stauder (high jump), Jesse Dengsavang (triple jump) and the 1,600 relay team were individual winners.
