UW-L provost searchWhat we knew: The provost position at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse was
re-advertised because the four initially selected candidates did not “capture the collective enthusiasm of our campus community,” said Chancellor Joe Gow.
What’s New: Three new finalists for provost will participate in on-campus interviews. They are Denise Battles, dean of the College of Natural and Health Sciences, University of Northern Colorado; Kathleen Enz Finken, dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, Minnesota State University Moorhead; and Ronald Toll, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty, Lebanon Valley College, Annville, Penn. Two candidates who previously interviewed remain in the running, said Gwen Achenreiner, chairwoman of the search and screen committee.
What’s next: Open forums will be held with each candidate, starting with Enz Finken from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. today at Strzelczyk Great Hall at the Cleary Alumni and Friends Center. Toll will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at the same site; and Battles will be from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. March 11 at Port O’ Call, Cartwright Center. UW-L hopes to have a provost selected by mid-March at the earliest, said Achenreiner.
