News Tracker: UW-L financial aid bill By Tribune staff
.
What we knew: The state Assembly Committee on Colleges and Universities held a public hearing Tuesday on the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse financial aid bill that would allow UW-L to use all of the $664,800 included in the state budget for financial aid with its Growth, Quality and Access plan.
What’s new: The committee unanimously passed the bill.
What is next: The bill will go before the full Assembly next week, said state Rep. Jennifer Shilling, D-La Crosse.
" What we knew- They just raised tuition for students not on campus yet, with no voice, an additional $500.00.
What we should have known-They will run more of our taxpayer funds through their bureaucratic hands as to come out the other end less money. "
