Published - Wednesday, March 19, 2008 Milwaukee recruiting center vandalized MILWAUKEE — U.S. Army officials are repairing vandalism damage inflicted on an Army recruiting center. Sometime Monday night or Tuesday, vandals damaged the glass of the front door and spray-painted graffiti across the front windows. The messages, scrawled in white spray paint, read, "5 yrs too many," "Expect resistance" and "War is offensive!" Today marks the fifth anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq. U.S. Army spokeswoman Sara Micka says no one was hurt, but the windows have been boarded up and the center closed until at least Thursday. Exactly one year ago at the same office, protesters set off smoke bombs, tossed paint and broke outer windows. According to jail booking logs, the attack led to 21 arrests.
