WAUMANDEE/INDEPENDENCE, Wis. — Lowell Doenier, 78, of Waumandee/ Independence died Friday, March 21, 2008, at Tri-County Memorial Hospital in Whitehall, Wis. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church, Arcadia, with the Rev. Kris Fahey officiating. Burial will be in Glencoe Lutheran Cemetery, Arcadia. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, Arcadia, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Lester H. Frohmader
ROCKFORD, Ill. — Lester H. Frohmader, 92, of Rockford died Thursday, March 20, 2008, in Wesley Willows Health Center.
He was born Nov. 17, 1915, in Rockford, the son of Herman and Amanda (Miller) Frohmader. Graduated from Rockford High School in 1933 and from Beloit College in 1938. He married Hazel Larson on Oct. 24, 1975, in Rockford; she predeceased him Feb. 21, 2005. Employed as the treasurer at Slick Electro, retiring in 1980. Member of Salem Lutheran Church.
Lester is survived by his stepdaughters, Ronda (Jack) Swick of Belvidere, Ill., and Geri (Glen) Swartz of Winnebago, Ill.; grandchildren, Tony (Jenifer) Swartz of Rockton, Ill., Kevin (Stacy) Swartz of Winnebago and Valerie (Jim) Lewis of Rockton; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Swartz and Brandon Swartz; nieces and nephews, Larry (Verna) Frohmader of La Crosse, Peggy (Charlie) Woodward of Onalaska, Wis., Richard (Kaye) Frohmader of Madison, and Betsy (Dar) Schroeder of Stockton, Ill. Predeceased by parents and brother, Stanley.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford, with Mr. Dale Johnson of Salem Lutheran Church officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. VIROQUA, Wis. — Maria U. (Lopez) Getter, 89, of Viroqua died peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Vernon Manor in Viroqua, where she had been a resident since Nov. 9, 2007. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Viroqua; to follow, 10:30 a.m., funeral Mass, with the Rev. Cook officiating. Burial will be at Liberty Pole Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Vernon Manor of Viroqua or The American Diabetes Association. Nathanial J. Stetter
HOLMEN, Wis. — Nathanial J. Stetter, 20, died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Friday, March 21, 2008, in Ely, Minn. Nate was born July 26, 1987, in La Crosse, to Joseph and Ann (Kube) Stetter. He graduated from Holmen High School in 2005 and was attending Vermilion Community College in Ely, pursuing a career in wildlife management, the love of his life. Nate was full of life. He enjoyed the outdoors, all that it had to offer, and especially enjoyed his trips to “the shack.”
He is survived by his parents of Holmen; two sisters, Hannah at home and Aubrey (Lucas Nugent) of Idaho; maternal grandparents, Franklin and Janet Kube of La Crosse; loving girlfriend, Cathy Slimmen; aunts and uncles, Lynn (Scott) Roellig, Jean (Mike) Wozniak, Don (Mary) Kube, Chip (Rosie) Kube, Jim (Coleen) Kube, Jerry (fiancee Darlene) Stetter, John (Sue) Stetter, Willy (Joan) Stetter, and Sue (Jerry) Severson; he was very close to his many wonderful cousins, his many great friends, and his faithful companion for the last 10 years, his yellow Lab, Shine.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; and an uncle, Gene Stetter.
A memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 515 North Main St., Holmen. The Rev. Robert Schaller and the Rev. Delbert Malin will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday, both at the church.
Memorials may be given to Ducks Unlimited or to Vermilion Community College.
