Beverley J. Blum, 79, of La Crosse died Sunday, March 30, 2008, in her home. She was born in La Crosse on April 12, 1928, to Arthur and Meta (Westpahl) Bell. She married Ralph Blum.
She is survived by two sons, Rick (Deb) Blum of Longview, Texas, and Larry (Deb) Blum of La Crosse; three grandchildren, Justin Blum, Lisa (Josh) Mc Ginnis and Ryan (Grete) Blum; and one great-granddaughter, Alivia Mc Ginnis. She is further survived by one sister, Carrie (Phil) Small of La Crosse; and other relatives, friends, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph; her parents; two sons, Terry and Steven Blum; and one sister, Audrey Sanders.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at First Church of Christ, 727 Cass St., La Crosse. The Rev. Chuck Robinson will officiate, with burial to be held in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery, rural La Crosse. Friends and family may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. S., La Crosse, (Please use the Denton Street entrance). Arnold ‘Arnie’ L. Geier
SPARTA, Wis. — Arnold “Arnie” L. Geier, 79, of Sparta died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, Sparta. He was born on Jan. 3, 1929, in the rural Cashton (Wis.) area to Basilius and Frances (Rondorf) Geier. He married the former Mary Ann Dougherty on June 24, 1953, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wilton, Wis.
Arnie owned and operated the Gambles Hardware Store in Sparta for 34 years. After closing the store in 1986 he worked at Sparta Motors and served as a bailiff at the Monroe County Courthouse.
Arnie was a member of the Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce and had served as their president; member of Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sparta, where he had served as head usher.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Sparta; four sons, Paul (Julie) Geier of Sparta, Steven (Lisa) Geier of La Crosse, Donald Geier of Sparta and Joseph (Kristin) Geier of Sparta; a daughter, Betty (Richard) Schwarz of Sun Prairie, Wis.; grandchildren, Jennifer Schwarz and Dayne, Garrett, Rachel and Grant Geier; a brother, Larry (Myrtle) Geier of Tomah, Wis.; four sisters, Helen (Evan) Summerfield of Wilton, Wis., Connie (Carl) Lewis of Slayton, Texas, Berdella (Jerry) Butzler of Sparta and Marlene (Larry) Peth of Tomah; three sister-in-laws, Bonnie Geier of Sparta, Karen Geier of Wilton, and Bertha Geier of Sparta; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Isidore, George, Omer and Wilbert Geier; and three sisters, Adeline Donskey, Irma Von Ruden and Annabelle Von Ruden.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sparta, with Father James Leary OFM Cap. officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.

Eloise ‘Tootie’ E. Jensen
SPARTA/CATARACT, Wis. — Eloise “Tootie” E. Jensen, 91, of Sparta died Monday, March 31, 2008, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.
She was born on Oct. 26, 1916, in the town of New Lyme, Monroe County, Wis., to Edward and Myrtle (Chambers) Bodette. She grew up in the New Lyme area and attended school in New Lyme and also attended various other schools in Monroe County.
She married Kermit Jensen on Oct. 20, 1934. They farmed in the town of Grant, and then in 1947 they moved to a farm in the town of Little Falls. Eloise drove school bus for 29 years.
She was a member of Cataract United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Gerald (Linda) Jensen of La Crosse, Donald (Valetta) Jensen of Oswego, Ill., and Sue Ann (James) Tracy of Onalaska, Wis.; six grandchildren, Tracy (David) Raatz of Whiting, Wis., Adam Jensen of La Crosse, Robin (David) Olson of Janesville, Wis., Douglas (Cecelia) Jensen of Plainfield, Ill., Garrett Tracy of Onalaska and Ryan (Selina) Tracy of Stoughton, Wis.; six great-grandchildren, Michael and Natasha, Jacob, Jackson, Damion and Lane; her uncle, Clifford Chambers of Mount Ida, Ark.; a brother, Douglas Bodette of Texas; and a sister, Charlotte Stacy of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kermit, on March 20, 1991; a brother, Edward; and an infant brother.

Clyde Norman Lund
TOMAH, Wis. — Clyde Norman Lund, 90, of Tomah passed away Friday, March 28, 2008, at Tomah Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 11, 1917, in Merrill, Wis., to parents, Oscar and Effie (Ladd) Lund. His father, Oscar, died in March 1921, and his mother, Effie, remarried James Arley Johnson in 1922 and moved to a farm five miles east of Tomah.
Clyde attended Mound View Country School for six years, Miller Grade School for two years and also attended Tomah High School. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) from 1934 to 1936. Clyde married Merene P. Alexander on June 7, 1938. They had four children, Derald, Carol, Marilyn and Janice. In 1938, they moved to California, where Clyde worked for the U.S. Forestry Service. In 1942, they returned to Wisconsin. During World War II, they lived in Waukegan, Ill., where Clyde worked for American Steel and Wire in North Chicago. The family moved back to Tomah in 1947, and Clyde ran the old Henry Skinner Standard Service in the Log Cabin Station. A new Standard station replaced it in 1949. In 1954, he built a new garage on the fairgrounds road for a Nash/Rambler agency, Lund’s Auto Sales, and spent 25 years in the automobile business. His last endeavor was building and selling homes in central and southern Wisconsin. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and card playing.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Merene; two daughters, Carol Barnhill of Fort Collins, Colo., and Marilyn Zaken of Tomah; six grandchildren, Russell (April) Barnhill of Lakewood, Colo., Michael (Dana) Barnhill of Houston, Texas, Patti (Barry) Scott of Loveland, Colo., Kathleen (Mike) Adkins of Martinsburg, W.Va., Nicole (Joe) Monroe of Monroe, Wis., and Kimberly Ducklow of Tomah; two greatgrandsons, Ryan and Tim Barnhill of Strasburg, Colo.; and one great-granddaughter, Avery Monroe of Monroe. He is also survived by a son-in-law, Robert Ducklow of Tomah; a brother-in-law, Elmer (Faye) Alexander of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Mildred Nichols of Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; and nephews, nieces, cousins, stepcousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Derald; a daughter, Janice Ducklow; a grandson, Daniel Zaken; a brother, John Lund; and a sister, Fern Sullivan.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at First United Methodist Church in Tomah. Pastor William Swan will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday, April 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Kenneth William Sund
VIROQUA/WESTBY, Wis. — Kenneth William Sund, 86, died peacefully in the arms of the Lord, surrounded by his loving wife, Anna Mae, and family on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Vernon Memorial Hospital.
Kenneth was baptized and confirmed at Vang Lutheran Church, rural Westby. He attended elementary school at North Natwick and graduated from Viroqua High School. In 1947, he was united in marriage to Elaine Krueger in Caledonia, Minn.
Farming became Kenneth’s most important and loved occupation. He lived on the family farm most all of his life. Kenneth served on the board of directors of the Westby Co-op Credit Union from 1969-2002. He remained in an advisory capacity until November 2007. For a number of years he was also on the board of the Westby Cooperative Creamery.
In 2004 he was united in marriage to Anna Mae Krause. They spent many happy days together at her rural Viroqua home.
Kenneth leaves to mourn his passing his dear wife, Anna Mae, and her family; a sister, Eleanor and husband Merlin Norskog of Campbellsport, Wis.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Sund of Madison; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav and Lisa; his first wife, Elaine; five brothers, John, Julian, Clarence, Gilman and Merlin; a sister, Julia Peterson and brother-in-law, Lloyd Peterson; and two sisters-in-law, Elinor (Clarence) and Jay (John).
Kenneth will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, at Vang Lutheran Church in rural Westby. Pastor Jullie Wollman will officiate, with burial in Vang Cemetery. Rosemary ‘Rosie’ I. Schneider
ONALASKA, Wis. — Rosemary “Rosie” I. Schneider, 78, of Onalaska died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.
She was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Kenosha, Wis., to Florendo “Tap” and Dorothy (Smith) Bellaver. Rosie was a caregiver her entire life, always willing to help her family or anyone who needed it, and always with a smile. After graduating from nursing school, she worked at Grandview Hospital and the La Crosse Clinic. She also worked at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center for over 20 years before retiring. After retiring she worked for La Crosse County as a visiting nurse and also as one of the lunch ladies at St. Patrick’s Catholic Grade School. Rosie also was very active with the La Crosse Community Theatre.
She is survived by five children, William of Madison and his daughter Elizabeth, Timothy (special friend Shelly Valentine) of La Crosse and his children, Andrew, Anthony and Jordan, David (Sheila) of Onalaska and their children, Nathan (Jenna), Jena, and Christian, Margaret “Peggy” (Jose) Cornejo of Sussex, Wis., and their children, Jose and Natasha, and Jim (special friend Teresa Hettman) of La Crosse and his son Jeremy Johnson;, a granddaughter, Cecelia (Jawad) Nashatizadeh; a great-granddaughter, Mamie Averill-West; a great-grandson, Myles “Tony” Averill-West; and a brother, Tom Bellaver of Milwaukee.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Levi Schneider; her second husband, Richard Erickson; two daughters, Mary West and Theresa Schneider; two sons, Anthony and Daniel Schneider; a granddaughter, Brigetta Averill; and a sister, Kathy Bellaver.

Dorothy M. Stoda
Dorothy M. Stoda, 83, of La Crosse died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Bethany-St. Joseph Care Center in La Crosse.
She was born on May 18, 1924, in Sparta, Wis., to Ray and Marie (Wegner) Pfaff. Dorothy attended schools in Sparta and also attended Coleman Technical College in La Crosse. She married LeRoy Stoda in 1946 in La Crosse, and he preceded her in death. Dorothy had worked at Fort McCoy, Wis.; Moen’s Photo in La Crosse; and at Skemp Clinic in La Crosse for 30 years before retiring in 1998. She was a faithful member of Seventh Street Baptist Church for many years.
She is survived by three sons, Daniel Stoda of La Crescent, Minn., Michael Stoda of Pasco, Wash., and David (Jackie) Stoda of La Crescent; four grandchildren, Melinda Stoda of Kennewick, Wash., Amy Stoda of Pasco, Wash., Nate Stoda of La Crosse and Duey Stoda of La Crescent; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joyce (Don) Johnson of Onalaska, Wis., Alvena (Francis) Schnedecker of La Crosse and Darlene Trapp of Orange City, Fla.; one brother, Leo (Shirley) Pfaff of La Crosse; a special niece, Sue Swim; along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to LeRoy, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Brian Stoda and Aaron Stoda; and two brothers, Ben Pfaff and Arleigh Pfaff.
