" My oh my, they told us the stadium would be funded by private 'donations'. The local government entities that contributed and those funds could have gone into our taxpayers coffers. Then they hit the students up for money? We hear that we need to fast track building two for LHI employees, we agree to loan Kapanke $225k for State mandated bathrooms, and then the stadium quick funding change. These people need to slow down and say what they mean, and mean what they say, in the initial stages. Then wonders why some are 'gunshy'? Gunny, you were an apologist for Weber as well. I am sorry to tell you that there are no LHI employees in building two, which means the only economic stimulus it provides is for Weber and his portfolio. "

" You know what is so funny about this? All those that are complaining and talking trash about this being voted in are the hipocrits that would have complained in a couple of years that UWL did not do enough to keep the revenue in Lacrosse when the state track meet was moved somewhere else. "

" I personally would like to thank the students for their vote. This means that the Hall of Honor for those Veterans that have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms will be completed. One of these freedoms is the right to vote and they have proven that this sacrifice was not in vain.
If any of you complainers have a problem with this, my name is Bob Wateski, 1317 Caledonia St, 608-790-3788. Come talk to me personally. There are a bunch of you that really need to get a life and some life experiences instead of a empty hole in your head where there should be a brain. "

" The total vote count was just like any election, you don't get 100%. This is a democracy and the large majority said yes. Way to go Krusty, tell the students they are stupid and don't know anything. You must have lost a lot of money on a bet or something because I bet you don't have a dime invested in this project. Why is it that if something doesn't go exactly the way some people want than all they can do is complain about it.
No matter what is done around here that is good there are the simple minded morons that cry about it. "

" The total vote count is roughly the same as student elections and any other referendums. That is what they were expecting. What percent are the taxpayers contributing for the stadium(not including the increase in hotel tax which is being used by La Crosse to help fund this)? Not much. Also, Really, this is money which came from the REC which means no students/parents will pay anything extra for what was reallocated. And The Real World, just more of your cynicism, as the only person who you seem to believe knows anything, is yourself. "

" For those of you that still think that the private sector is forceing this down the throuts of the students and their families look at the numbers.
* There was a 6 to 1 margine for the student ONLINE vote that took place on 04/29/2008. 2272 students voted yes while only 375 voted no. This vote was avaible to all registered students and represents their choices.
* On 04/16/2008 The UW-L Student Senate (elected by students and facuality) voted on the reallocation of funds from the "Strength Center" to the Phase I of the UW-L Veterans Memorial Field Sposts Complex. With a vote count of 27-0 it shows what the Student Senate was in total favor of this funds shift.

" If the students voted no there would be no Phase I and therefore no Phase II...
Now they'll just have to vote no if asked for more money when Phase II comes around. Hopefully more donors will contribute during this extra time so the students aren't bothered "

" This is all PR, and manipulative pressure. The stadium was sold to us as "privately" funded. It has not bee the case. They fist whacked the local taxpayers, and now the students and their parents. In fairness, one of those 'private boxes' should be raffled off for taxpayers/students/contributors for each game. I know it is not much, although 'somebody' else should be able to enjoy what the rich, influential, and elite are about to enjoy in our new slated public facility. "
