Published - Thursday, May 08, 2008 Viterbo students awarded Liberace scholarships Viterbo University students Anna Koll and Katherine Weber have been named Liberace Scholars for the 2008-09 academic year. Koll and Weber each will receive the $4,000 scholarship from the Liberace Foundation for the Performing and Creative Arts and matching funds from Viterbo. A native of Appleton, Wis., Koll is a music education major. She has won a first place at the state National Association of Teachers of Singing competition, and two third places in NATS national auditions. Weber, a native of Holmen, Wis., is a music vocal performance major and recently won the intermediate voice division at the Schubert Club auditions in the Twin Cities. She also has won first place in the state NATS competition. Viterbo is one of 110 colleges and universities to be awarded a Liberace Foundation grant in 32 years. Eight Viterbo students have been named Liberace scholars during the past eight years.
