Activities for May 4, 2008

The Interfaith Network for Justice and Peace has changed the location of its monthly meetings from the La Crosse Public Library to the Grandview Building,

1701 Main St. The group meets at 12:45 p.m. the second Monday of each month, and the May meeting will be May 12.

“Affabel,” a drama about characters after death, will be performed at 7 p.m. May 8-10 at Coulee Christian School, 230 W. Garland St., West Salem, Wis.

St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral will celebrate its 145th anniversary with a 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday at the church at 530 Main St.

A blessing of the wheels coinciding with “Ride your Bike to Church Week” will be at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Bridge of Life Lutheran Church in Holmen Square Mall. Bring your bicycle,

tricycle, stroller, roller skates or motorcycle. An Easter egg hunt will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at a campfire service across the highway from the Seven Bridges Bank Building, two miles north of Holmen, Wis. Worship begins at 7 p.m., and the campfire service will continue through September.

A weekly DivorceCare group will hold its first meeting at 7 p.m. May 13 at Holmen Lutheran Church, 228 Morris St. For information, call Sue at (608) 317-7512.

The Rev. Terry L. Terrell will give a 25-hour sermon beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday at Lighthouse Assembly of God, 762 Hwy. 16 West, Tomah, Wis. The event is a fundraiser for the people of Darfur who have suffered death and displacement due to conflict there. Donations can be sent to Lighthouse Assembly of God, P.O. “Subversive Books of the Bible for Subversive People of Faith,” a workshop on dissent and resistance in the Bible, is planned Thursday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 2503 Main St. Dr. Ken Stone from Chicago Theological Seminary will present.
