7-year-old boy dies in Janesville fire

JANESVILLE, Wis. — A 7-year-old boy died when a fire hit a home on Janesville's west side today.

Firefighters said the victim's 2-year-old brother was hospitalized after the blaze was reported Saturday about 8 a.m.

Deputy Fire Chief Jim Jensen said the boys' father, another brother described as a toddler, the boys' grandmother and another person escaped.

The cause of the fire was not immediately determined.
