Published - Tuesday, May 13, 2008 Wis., UK sign global warming agreement MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Jim Doyle has signed a memorandum of understanding between the United Kingdom and Wisconsin on global warming. The UK also has similar agreements with Florida and California. The agreement signed by Doyle on Monday encourages collaboration between Wisconsin and the UK in researching and sharing new technologies, experiences, and solutions, as well as efforts to educate the public on global climate issues. The agreement is focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions while also improving the economy. Doyle says the collaboration with the UK can only do more to generate new technologies, new businesses and new jobs for citizens.
