But police say the mother wrestled the keys away, put the girl’s 7-year-old brother in the car, and sped away. Police were waiting for 43-year-old Rebecca Ann Schroeder when she got home. She is now in custody — charged with felony driving-while-impared and endangerment of a child. Police say her blood-alcohol level was 0.28 percent. This isn’t a first for Schroeder. In just over two years, she’s had three drunken-driving convictions and two convictions for failing to show proof of insurance. Last June, when she was placed on six years’ probation after pleading guilty to a charge of second-degree DWI. As a condition of probation, she’s not supposed to drink. Police say the children are with a relative. The Hennepin County Jail would not take a message for Schroeder and she could not be reached for comment.
