Husband charged in killing of Kenosha woman

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) — Cash bond is set at $1 million for a Kenosha man accused of shooting and stabbing his wife to death.

Gary Sabol, 63, was charged Friday with first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree sexual assault and mayhem in the death of his 64-year-old wife, Joann Reidenbach.

Police say the victim called 911 about 3:15 a.m. Thursday, screaming she had been cut, and when officers broke through a door they found her in a bedroom with gunshot and stab wounds.

Sabol also was in the room and was arrested without incident.

A mental competency evaluation was ordered for Sabol after being requested by defense lawyer Adrienne Moore. She says she was unable to communicate with Sabol, who has Parkinson's disease and gets disability benefits.
