(AP) — A Neenah woman who worked part-time for the Winnebago County's Child Welfare Division made a first court appearance on a charge of suffocating her 2-year-old son, but it didn't last long. Brenda Thiel appeared via video conference from jail Friday and didn't have an attorney representing her. She was ordered to return Monday, with an attorney. The 27-year-old Thiel is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death May 5 of her son, Caleb. Authorities say she told investigators she heard voices telling her to do it.
