Student charged with making bomb threat

.
ONALASKA, Wis. — A juvenile student was arrested and charged with making a bomb threat to Onalaska Middle School on Friday, Onalaska Middle School Associate Principal Bill Paris said Monday.

The student — whose name, gender and age were not released — was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Monday after a combined effort between the Onalaska Police Department and School District. Punishments for the student include suspension and expulsion, Paris said.

" I live across from the middle school and it seems like this is happening a lot more lately since all I have to do is look out my front window and see the whole school outside for an hour and then see fire trucks come down the road. I would think it would be getting pretty old for the teachers who have to take the time out and interrupt their day of trying to teach and find out in the long run it is just a student trying to get out of school for the afternoon. There needs to be stronger discipline done to the students who do this. "

" This Onalaska taxpayer is tired of paying for the costly bomb threats. It's time for serious punishment for these kids. We've had a lot of threats lately.... and I'm guessing that since it's the end of the school year (final exams) we'll see more. "

" They need to make an example of this kid. I'm guessing, I don't know this person, but if he/she has the kind of character to make a bomb threat to get out of school, they could probally care less about suspension or possibility of expulsion. Kids calling in bomb threats to get a day off is happening way to much. "
