The new 4,000-square-foot building is along Hwy. EW and Interstate 94, near the Three Bears Resort and Jellystone Campground.
The clinic will be open year-round, and summer hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.
Three to four people will staff the clinic, including a receptionist, nurses’ aide and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners, who are licensed to write prescriptions and diagnose and treat illnesses such as sore throats, ear infections and upper respiratory infections.
Routine laboratory tests and X-rays also will be done at the clinic.
“We’re pretty excited about the fact that patients can just walk in with minor illnesses, bumps, scrapes and those things, and we’ll be able to take care of them right away with no appointments necessary,” hospital CEO Phil Stuart said.
Stuart said hospital officials determined the need for the clinic based on the increased number of emergency cases from the nearby resort and campground.
