The competition begins Thursday at the Alberta Kimball auditorium in Oshkosh. Ten semifinalists will be selected Saturday at the start of the coronation finale show.
La Crosse area women and winners in Coulee Region contests competing in the Miss Wisconsin Pageant are:
Miss Arcadia Melissa Schroeder, student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, will sing “This is the Moment.” Her platform: Mentoring with an emphasis on adolescents with special needs.
Miss Coulee Region Kristina Gross, a senior at Viterbo University, will dance to “Feeling Good.” Her platform: Diabetes Awareness — Juvenile Diabetes.
Miss Holmen Raeanna Johnson, a freshman at Viterbo University, will dance ballet to “Stand.” Her platform: Drug Use Prevention and Awareness.
Miss La Crosse-Oktoberfest Mandy Nogle, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, will dance ballet to “Rodeo: IV — Hoe-Down.” Her platform: Imagine: Your World is Limitless with Books.
Miss Onalaska Kathryn Gorman, a sophomore at Viterbo University, will dance to “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.” Her platform is Peer Mediation.
Miss Prairie Shores Kristina Smaby, a junior at Viterbo University, will dance ballet to “River Deep — Mountain High.” Her platform: Connecting Generations.
