“God’s Big Back Yard” Vacation Bible School will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday at Trinity United Church of Christ, W4888 Harvest Lane, three miles southeast of La Crosse on Hwy. 14/61, (608) 790-2617.

“Rainforest Adventure” Vacation Bible School for 3-year-olds to fifth-graders will be from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2135 Weston St., (608) 788-0242.

Jonathan Martin, Grammy nominee, will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Money Creek United Methodist Church, 18008 Summer Drive, Houston, Minn. A potluck supper will start at 5 p.m.

Jazz on the Green, a fundraiser for New Horizons, the La Crosse Jail Ministry and WAFER food pantry, will be from noon to 3 p.m. June 22 on the lawn of North Presbyterian Church, 1327 N. Salem Road. Al Townsend’s Wonderful World Jazz Band, Dick Chaffee’s Big Stardust Band and an Onalaska High School jazz group will perform.

The Franciscan Spirituality Center, 920 Market St., will host the following programs, (608) 791-5295, fscenter@fspa.org:

  • Walking the Road to Peace with author, peace activist and Jesuit priest John Dear,
  • June 20-21. Friday includes a number of 90-minute workshops on peaceful living. Saturday features two lectures from Dear on the peaceful Jesus and the Beatitude of Peace. Cost is $95 for both days and $50 for one with discounts and scholarships available. Call for details and locations.

  • Directed Retreat with the theme “The Questions of Jesus,”
  • June 26 through July 2. Choose any three days or all six days. Cost, including meals and room, is $200 for three days and $395 for six.

    St. Isaac of Syria Skete Open House and Icon and Sacred Arts Festival will be June 21-22 in Boscobel, Wis.
