Tickets remain for Packers Family Night

GREEN BAY — The Green Bay Packers’ annual Family Night still has more than 6,000 tickets remaining after selling out quickly the previous four years.

Spokesman Aaron Popkey says the festivities are on Aug. 3, a Sunday night that was necessary because the Packers’ first preseason game is Aug. 11.

The event typically is held on Saturday night, but it could not be worked around since camp is not allowed to begin until July 28.

The all-day event concludes with Packers on-field drills, a scrimmage and a fireworks show.

Popkey says he hasn’t heard specific complaints that there are less fans because Brett Favre has retired, but people are interested in seeing new starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
