“Tonight Show” host Jay Leno closed down Hooters downtown Saturday night.
Rap-rocker Kid Rock gave a surprise performance at Bucky’s Burger Barn.
Actress Sandra Bullock, unhappy with her accommodations at a local hotel, stayed at S&S President Brett Smith’s house instead.
Colorful — but not true.
Smith said Monday most of the big names being bantered around were no-shows.
Leno wanted to attend the event but had other commitments, Smith said.
And if George Clooney, David Letterman or Matthew McConaughey were here, they didn’t tell any of Smith’s
people.
The event did draw a few people motorcycle enthusiasts would recognize, including Jesse James — Bullock’s husband and the West Coast Choppers guy formerly on the cable show “Monster Garage” — along with Paul Teutul Sr. and Paul Teutul Jr., from the cable reality series “American Chopper.”
While the event failed to draw many A-list celebrities, it did attract many of the industry’s top names, Smith said.
“Of the people in our industry, all the big wigs and all the big names were here,” Smith said. “Let’s just say there wasn’t anybody who didn’t make it who didn’t have a good excuse.”
