The sheriff's department said the crash happened about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the town of Stockton.
Both occupants of the car died at the scene. The driver was 42-year-old Loriann F. Stephens-Zarecki and her husband was 35-year-old Kevin J. Zarecki. Both were from Custer.
Two animals in the car also died.
Four young people in the SUV were injured. The 21-year-old driver and two 16-year-old passengers were taken to St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point.
Another 16-year-old passenger in the SUV was taken by helicopter to St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. All four are from the Plover area.
