The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced this week it was broadening its investigation to include foods commonly consumed with tomatoes.
The government has not issued any new warnings about produce, beyond certain types of tomatoes, including red plum, red Roma and red round tomatoes, unless they come from a list of tomato-producing states deemed safe.
