Owner: Mobile home will go soon

.
TOWN OF GREENFIELD, Wis. — As Leslie Parrish sees it, the fire-ravaged mobile home at W4300 Hwy. M Lot 67 should be gone by now.

The two-bedroom home in Brookview Mobile Home Park was destroyed June 23 after a blaze marked as suspicious ripped through the structure, leaving only the frame in its wake.
“It’s an eyesore and a risk for children out here,” said Parrish, of W4300 Hwy. M Lot 53. “I think after two weeks it should be cleaned up.”

It will be by the end of the month, said home owner Larry Sacia, of Holmen, Wis., who is responsible for removing what’s left of the structure.

Sacia was given the property in mid-June. He planned to strip it down and remove the lumber, windows, water heater and furnace.

When the materials had been removed, Sacia said he was going to tear it down in pieces and haul it to a dump. The materials he planned to salvage were lost in the fire.

“I thought I had a good thing going, but now it’s turned into one big mess up there,” he said.

The fire started about 7:30 a.m. near the living room and a bedroom, but a cause has not been pinpointed.

Investigators are confident the fire was set intentionally, but it remains under investigation, said investigator Joe Brown of the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Department.

How to help

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call the Wisconsin Arson Tip Line at 1-800-362-3005. Callers’ identity will remain confidential, and they may be eligible for a $500 reward if information leads to an arrest.
