Published - Sunday, July 20, 2008 Facility needs on tap for school board meeting La Crosse School Board members have a full agenda for Monday’s regular meeting. They will continue to discuss facility needs and a referendum, plus hold a debriefing on the retreat Friday and Saturday that focused on board policies and strategic planning. The board voted July 7 to take a “no referendum” option off the table and focus on proposals that likely would go to referendum in November. Administration is to report back to the board Monday with more details on the costs involved in keeping Franklin and Roosevelt elementary schools open; the idea of tapping the district’s $33 million fund balance for $5 million and $10 million for facility needs; and enrollment projections for each school. Janet Rosseter, the district’s executive director of business services, also will present the 2008-09 proposed budget, which the board will take up at its Aug. 4 meeting. A public hearing on the budget will be held later that month. Rosseter has been updating the board on various aspects of the budget throughout the budgeting process.
