Jim Reigel of Marshfield was elected commander of the state Legion.
Christensen served 10 years in the Marine Corps and 10 years in the Navy and is a member of Post 336 in Onalaska. He has been Seventh District Commander for the previous two years.
Christensen’s wife, Eunice, is a past Seventh District Wisconsin American Legion Auxiliary president.
Christensen and three other vice commanders were installed Sunday during closing ceremonies of the five-day convention that drew an estimated 800 Legion members to La Crosse.
The Wisconsin American Legion is the state’s largest veterans’ service organization with more than 74,000 members and 523 posts.
