Emergency tourism grants awarded

MADISON — Wisconsin Tourism Secretary Kelli Trumble on Monday announced $228,819 in emergency tourism grants for areas where flooding threatened the summer tourism season. In this area, the grants include: $12,500 to the La Crosse Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, which is partnering with Onalaska, Vernon County and the Great River Road to launch a print ad campaign in Iowa and the Twin Cities.
$12,000 to the Kickapoo Valley Association to advertise its area in newspapers in Chicago and Minneapolis.
$12,500 to Crawford County’s Community Development Alternatives to launch the “Rivers Rise, People Prevail” campaign.
$12,500 to the Prairie du Chien Chamber of Commerce for the “Rebound on the River” campaign targeting Madison, Milwaukee, St. Paul, Chicago and eastern Iowa.
