The steamboat was to be at Riverside Park from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday. Because the cruise is behind schedule, the boat now is expected to make a brief stop sometime Thursday night to take on water, said Clarissa Bates, the bureau’s director of development. “It won’t be here for very long,” Bates said.
The steamboat is on a trip from St. Louis to St. Paul, where it will be repaired. It’s still expected to be in La Crosse from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, on its return trip to St. Louis, Bates said.
