Two die in separate ultralight crashes

SAUK CENTRE, Minn. (AP) — Two Minnesota men have died in two separate ultralight plane crashes.

In Sauk Centre Township on Monday, 70-year-old Richard Eidem of Osakis died when his ultralight single-seat propeller aircraft crashed on Lynx National Golf Course.

Stearns County Sheriff's officials said the crash happened just after 8 p.m. Witnesses said the aircraft was flying low as it neared the golf course.

Less than a half-hour earlier, another man died when his ultralight plane crashed into a field near Pequot Lakes.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's office said 55-year-old Daniel Steven Chisholm, of Ideal Township, was dead at the scene.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
