Thoughts, prayers for First Lt. Nick A. Dewhirst's family
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of First Lt. Nick A. Dewhirst of Onalaska, Wis., who died Sunday from injuries received in combat in Afghanistan.
He is the second soldier from Onalaska to be killed in Afghanistan. Senior Airman Adam Servais of Onalaska died Aug. 19, 2006.
Lt. Dewhirst was a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. We are grateful for his military service and saddened by his loss.
