Medical writer wins journalism award By Tribune staff

ONALASKA, Wis. — Howard Bell, a medical writer who lives in Onalaska, received a national Dr. Michael E. DeBakey Journalism Award from the Founda-tion for Bio-medical Research in Washington, D.C., for an article he wrote for the Minnesota Medicine Magazine.
The magazine is a publication of the Minnesota Medical Association. Bell said the award is for journalism that reports on the role that humane animal research plays in medical discoveries and scientific breakthroughs.
