Appraisal fair to benefit Red Cross

The American Red Cross Scenic Bluffs Chapter will once again hold an Antiques Appraisal Fair fundraiser to benefit its disaster fund. This is the fifth year for the event, in which volunteer appraisers give appraisals of coins, antiques, furniture and more.
The appraisal fair will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 9 at Valley View Mall. There is a minimum $5 donation to have your item appraised. Registration for appraisals must be done by 3 p.m. that day. This year’s volunteer antiques experts are: June Joseph, with expertise in vintage jewelry, advertising memorabilia and glassware
Sue Semb, estate and household sale consultant
Judy Shuster, antique doll specialist
Dave Horman, coins, currency, gold and silver specialist
Dave Nelson, Depression-era glassware and sporting items
Ann Nelson, children’s collectibles and kitchen items
Mike Bakalars, military gear and weapons
Mike Dammen, cameras, pottery, watches, fountain pens and artwork
Alice Dammen, linens, button and textiles.
