Market Street restricted at West Avenue

.
Westbound access to West Avenue from Market Street will be cut off for about a week starting today.

It's the latest closure in about five months of construction to widen and improve safety along the busy north-south artery in La Crosse.
Traffic toward the end of July was shifted to the newly constructed west side of the roadway.

The $5 million construction project is expected to be completed by Nov. 1.

" Well, for the benefit of the trouble-makers who think pedestrians have no rights (over in the blocked sidewalks story), now you'll see what those people are talking about.

I hope. "

" If you are heading west on Market Street you cannot turn left, right, or go straight at the stoplight that intersects with West Avenue. "

" The way I read it is that if you are westbound on Market street you cannot access West Avenue. No left or right turn onto West Avenue. Not sure if you can go straight. "

" thank-you moderate, I thought it was just me when I read the article, so now to go to the clinic one must come from the west instead of west ave? "

" West Avenue runs North & South. Market Street runs East & West. There is NO "westbound access" to West Avenue from Market. "
