Annika Prindle, 4, left Gillette Children's Hospital on Friday and is home with her family in Hugo. In a statement Tuesday, her family said Annika is "slowly, very slowly regaining the twinkle in her eyes."
Her family said she is just starting to eat real food but mostly is fed through a tube in her stomach. She's moving her body more but still can't hold her head up well or sit on her own. She can't talk yet but is learning to communicate with her face and voice.
The Prindles said Annika does not understand the loss of her brother, 2-year-old Nate, who was the only fatality in the May 25 tornado.
