After resisting for the past five years, I’ve caved in and joined a fantasy football league.
And now what free time I did have is in serious jeopardy, as I can feel my competitive edge already bracing itself for the next 16 weeks.
How will I resist tuning in to every single NFL game, not only to monitor my roster, but to make sure I curse my opponents’ players?
How will I resist turning on SportsCenter every day, just in case I missed something?
How will I resist sending taunting e-mails when Marion Barber scores three touchdowns on 100-plus yards? Or when Greg Jennings makes five catches for 85 yards?
The answer to these questions is, I won’t resist. Which is why my first year of fantasy football may also end up as my last.
