Bikers in 105 different cities across America will converge into 25 cross-country routes that all lead to Milwaukee, the 1903 birthplace of Harley-Davidson.
Tuesday found hundreds of riders celebrating with a stop at the La Crosse Area Harley-Davidson dealership, 116 Oak Forest Drive in Onalaska.
Pheasant, 55, of Wasilla, Alaska, said they’ve already traveled 3,600 miles for the event.
“I like that I get a lot more experience riding on all different kinds of terrain,” she said.
Eric Eade, who works at the La Crosse Area Harley-Davidson, said the manufacturer’s anniversary parties continue to grow in popularity.
“We see people from all over the country and Canada coming,” Eade said. “It’s a great way to celebrate the brand.”
Bob Farnsworth, 52, of Oak Harbor, Wash., said he was looking for something to do after retiring from the Navy a year ago after 30 years.
“I had a brand-new bike, with about 4,000 miles on it, sitting in the garage,” Farnsworth said. “One of my friends said we should do this.”
The fellowship is great, he said, but there are other advantages.
“You have better weather here than I’m used to,” he said.
