Trempealeau County, shouldn’t you reconsider your ordinance that essentially barred wind farms?
America, provide tax credits for private owners to allow the turbines, which, by the way, generate less noise than a rumbling semi or train, and have a certain beauty to them, but keep them away from bird and aircraft flyways.
Legislators, push to have Fort McCoy and other military facilities install such wind turbines. Billions of dollars less per year would be spent.
Let us change from our costly lawn culture, which recently caused embarrassment to the city because a resident was given a citation for too many weeds.
Get rid of the city’s weed ordinance. Incredible amounts of pesticides, including those similar to Agent Orange, have been used on lawns and then pass into our water supplies.
All of these not-so-radical proposals save money, which then can be invested here, rather than Venezuela and Saudi Arabia. By using my bicycle 10 times per month from April through October, I avoid five fill-ups for a 2000 Subaru Legacy, a savings of roughly $250.
Nationwide, if 50 million people just rode bikes, it would eliminate billions of dollars sent to Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. No need to drill offshore and ANWR. It will increase our security by limiting funds for enemies.
