Sheriff's deputy charged with assaulting teen

.
OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — An Outagamie County sheriff's deputy is accused of fondling a 16-year-old girl he met as her school's liaison officer.

Adam Burrows, 35, of Kaukauna is charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct.
A criminal complaint states the girl was with a group of families at a town of Poygan campground July 3. She told detectives Burrows kissed her and put his hand down her pants and grabbed her buttocks several times before a woman grabbed Burrows' arm, pulled his hand out of the girl's pants and admonished him, according to the complaint.

Defense attorney Rob Bellin said it isn't a criminal matter, but rather "horseplay" that has resulted in charges.

Burrows was placed on leave from Freedom schools after the complaints were made.

" I try to teach my daughter to respect the law and its officials. Then I read about something like this! "Horseplay" my Aunt Fannie!!! He should be treating that girl like a daughter, not a plaything. Or maybe he is???? How can our children respect law enforcement when the law enforcement is UN-respectable? God have mercy. "

" "Horseplay" for the cops and slam the book on anyone else, gotta love the cop double standard. When "horseplay" comes to my mind I think of a peactical joke not sticking your hands repeatedly down the pants of a teen girl. Better check that perverts computer hard drive. "
